Accessible WordPress Development / Audio / Leichte Sprache

“wenn Klang und Licht erlöschen” is a multimedia exhibition built on Vladimir Korkunov’s poems, written after interviews with deafblind people. The website had to be accessible in the fullest sense: every poem is available as text and audio in the Russian original and in German translation, there is a Leichte Sprache version, and visitors can switch to high contrast or enlarge the type at any time.

I developed the site on WordPress with a custom Oxygen build, an accessible audio player, semantic headings and keyboard-friendly navigation. The layout stays deliberately plain, large, legible type in black and white, so the content and the voices behind it come first. Shown at schwere reiter in Munich and at Brotfabrik Berlin.
